need to find adaptor for Old APPle ball-type speakers

I have a set of "ball-style" speakers that were used on early versions of apple G5's. They have a single "proprietary" connector. They do not fit any current macs including my old Blue G3 and my new macbook pro. Is there anywhere I can buy an adapter to use on newer computers? They are wonderful speakers and a shame to waste. If you can give me as much detail as possible I'd appreciate it. Radio shack knows nothing about it.
