When trying to view some, but not all e-mail attachments using Outlook 2000 SR1 receive the error "The form required to view this message cannot be displayed. Contact your administrator." We also use Exchange 2000 on the server.

Reply to Sarder Hasnut's Post: After downloading EFD there is no "organizational forms library" in the drop-down box. It is Outlook 2000. Does that matter?

Sorry for the OL 2002 issue that I gave.

As I said http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=253472 this is not solved. But this can be possible clearing the cache.

How to clear Cache

If you are using Microsoft Outlook 2000 SR-1/SR-1a and you have Outlook 2000 configured in the Corporate/Workgroup (CW) mode, you can use the Clear Cache button to reset the Outlook forms cache.

Else
Use the following steps to use the Clear Cache button:
1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Other tab.
2. Click Advanced Options.
3. In the Advanced Options box, click Custom Forms.
4. In the Custom Forms box, click Manage Forms.
5. In the Forms Manager box, click Clear Cache.

Reply to Sarder Hasnut's Post: The link you provided (see below) is not the error I am having and it is not from two users trying to access a public folder at the same time.

The Form You Selected Could Not Be Displayed" Using Terminal Server
When two users run Outlook on Microsoft Windows NT Terminal Server, and attempt to use the same form in a public folder at the same time, the second user receives the error message:

I had previously tried clearing the cache and it did not work. Sorry I didn't tell you that.

Try this http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/ArticleID/7535/7535.html?Ad=1
The article is a bit lengthy and may seem overwhelming because the writer is going into great technical detail. it starts by telling you to clear the cache but then gives yo more instructions should that fail.

Good Luck

The article you sent me said to delete the frmcache.dat file. However, this laptop does not have one. I searched the hard drive and came up with nothing. I tried automatically repairing Office programs but that did not help. Do you think reinstalling Outlook would help?

It definately wouldn't hurt anything to re-install. I am not sure if it will help, but it is worth a try. I will do a little more research and past again if i find anything.

I finally had time to get back to this problem. I did find the frmcache.dat file - it was in a folder that was hidden. I deleted it, re-opened Outlook and it now works. Thanks for the article that gave me the information.
