How do I transfer Microsoft Office from my laptop to my desktop?

I need Excel on my desktop and cannot find the software disk from Microsoft Office that I bought. So I want to know if I can transfer it from my laptop to my desktop.

In short, no. The files that are installed are done in a complex way with settings in the registry, and a bunch of files in different locations.

Can I suggest if you can use it to try OPENOFFICE or GOOGLE.
