My operating system: Vista Ultimate and I have Microsoft Office 2007. My Problem: in WORD, when I click on a heading of the Ribbon ( HOME, INSERT, PAGE LAYOUT, etc...), and let's say I want that a word be BOLD & UNDERLINED. When I click on BOLD, then the Ribbon is minimised and I have to click again on HOME to click Underlined. My question: how to keep the HOME ribbon OPEN until I have finished all my options in the HOME section. Thanks, Pierre

Hi,

This normally happens if you double click on an icon or button on the Ribbon. For example if you double click on the Bold icon the Ribbon gets minimized. So I think what is happening is that you are inadvertently double clicking instead of single clicking on an item. Try to gently click once and on the B or U icon.

Hope this helps.

John:

I have tried your suggested solution: to click carefully once on BOLD. automatically, the Ribbon afterwords closes.

So I clicked TWICE on thetag HOME, and then, the HOME tag remained OPEN!

John, Am I right, i.e. in order to keep a tag open ( Home, Page laywout, etc..) one has to double click?
