Windows Picture and Fax Viewer
Sent to Computer Experts November 11 01:54 PM

Hello,

I am having issues with, "My Pictures" folder. It always saved every picture here, then you could click on a pic to view it, or email it. Now if you click on any picture in this folder, each pic is attached to all the rest, (in otherwords, if you click on any of 30 pics to view seperately, you end with all 30 attached as a whole file.) In Picture Tasks, it is selected as, view as a slide show, yet there is no other selections available to change this setting. How do I seperate this in able to email one Pic and not the whole collection? I am using WinXP, apparently the windows fax & view finder was a program that came with windows. I was able to fix this once a long while back, yet cannot remember now.
Thank you for any help you are able to supply.

:)

Reply to Steve Gardner's Post: Yes, I have paid for three of the four questions I asked, that was why I emailed you about my status regarding my accept percentage. What is it you would like from me at this point? I have a credit card statement showing you received the monies for the 3 accepts I paid for. I also saved two of the accepts feedback that were pleased by my payment to them. Where did this money end up?

Btw, my mistake on the 1/4 you have, it is 2/4 accepted. I accepted Dustin & Steve7654. As for the other 2 questions, they are still on going in search of a correct answer. One is the tax question I asked, this person is extremely busy and my question cannot be replied as quickly as the other 3 were.

Now, may I ask why you are asking to get paid for this session? I contacted customer service to find out why my status was wrong and I am obliged to pay for this as well?

My main emailer is AOL, yet it matters not which one I use, the pictures are in a setting called, "View as a slide show." I am using Windows XP and the settings are to the left of the Pictures upon opening it. There are no other setting options to change it for selecting one picture at a time to send in an email. I have to place every single picture into a new folder in order to be able to surf through and use the one picture I want. This is a lot of extra trouble that creates many useless folders and sub-folders just to get to one picture. What happens is each time you scan, retreive, or download any pictures whatsoever, it goes directly into "My Pictures," then they are all collected in the, "Picture Tasks setting," set as, "View as a slide show." As I mentioned, this is automatically done without any other setting available to change it to individual viewing. No matter which picture you click on, the view & fax finder takes over and they are collected into a slide show. So each individual picture clicked contains every picture collected and carries the same amount of MB's and can only be sent as a whole. Each Picture contains every picture collected in the, "My Pictures Folder." Are you able to understand what I am trying to portray here? I am doing the best I can at giving the proper information.

Thank you so very much for your efforts.

Yes I understand.

I would like you to download this file and run it. It will make changes to your registry but be assured that it is safe. If you have any kind of anti-spyware program you will get a warning but be assured the file is safe.

The file restores thumbnail views to directories. It may work. If not we can try something else.

Thanks very much and good luck.

Reply to Steve Gardner's Post: It shows up as, "Restore Thumbnails In XP Explorer." Then it asks to, "Select the File Extensions to Restore/Remove Thumbnail View for: Total of 17 picks to choose from, which of these do I choose? The Apply button is not in bold, so it cannot be chosen, only the Exit is in Bold to choose. Out of the 17 that show, 14 are checked already. Now what please?

That's OK, click any one of the unchecked boxes and the Apply button will light up.

Go ahead and do that, then reboot.

Thanks very much and good luck.

All of the unchecked boxes are clicked, the Apply setting will not highlight. Something else I can try?

Just checking, do you have your XP installation fully up to date? Have you done a Windows Update recently? Are you running XP with SP2?

To Andy, Admin:

Why are you asking me by email to accept an answer just because this person sent me 4 replies? If your asking if he has solved my probmatic question I posted, then that would be no, so this should enlighten you on the reason why it has not been accepted. If your asking if I may need another expert to help in this issue, please me more explicit.

Regards

This does not sound like it would help my problem.

Any other ideas from anyone on this issue would be extremely welcomed.
