I have Mozilla Thunderbird's email program installed on my desktop computer and recently installed Mozilla Thunderbird's email program on my new laptop computer. Is there a way to download the email addresses, in my desktop address book, to my laptop computer's address book?

Hi,

Here are the steps to copy your address book from your desktop computer to your laptop.

1- On your desktop computer open Thunderbird and click Tools > Address Book

2- In the Address Book window click Tools > Export

3- Type a name and choose to save in to your Desktop (make sure to save it as LDIF type file)

4- Close Thunderbird, go to your Desktop and copy that LDIF file to a USB flash drive or a cd

5- Put that flash drive or cd in the laptop and copy the LDIF file to Desktop on you laptop computer.

6 Open Thunderbird on your laptop, click Tools > Address Book

7- In the Address Book window click Tools > Import > Address Book > Text File (LDIF, ....etc), and navigate to your Desktop and select that LDIF file.

That's it.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
