My mother has an IMac and is having trouble reading the screen. Is there a way to enlarge the font on the screen? She is trying to read email and use on-line banking and is having trouble reading her screen. In other words, make the whole screen read much larger.

Yes there a few things Apple has provided to make life easier for her.

Open "System Preferences" (from the Apple menu) and select "Universal Access".

There you will see the things Apple has added. Most likely you'll want to use Zoom.

jcdill also notes:

They may want to start by setting the screen resolution to a smaller number so that everything on the screen is larger.

Also, holding the Apple key (command key) and pressing the +/= key will usually enlarge the font on a webpage.
