I would like to password protect a page on a website. I designed the site in Dreamweaver 8. I am working on a Mac G4 OS X. I just want a simple password area the comes up before entering a page. I have tried to follow the steps in Dreamweaver for a password protected page but they are very confusing to me. I tried looking for a program where I could just copy and paste the code into my page but they all seem to run on Windows or Vista, none on Mac OS. Is there a program for Mac OS or a simple code I could copy and paste into dreamweaver for a simple password page?

I think my questions is posted in the wrong category. Should be in computer not health.

I tired the zubrag code and it appears that my server (siteground.com) does not support php.

I also tried the 2createawebsite copy and paste code. When I paste the code into a new Dreamweaver page, the buttons are not aligned the cell areas are not aligned and everything is not in the right place. When I try to change anything in the design area it give me a message the there are tags outside of the cell, etc. I wonder if it's not working because I am working on a Mac? Any other suggestions?

I'll look into the htmlgoodiew website but is there a Password Protect Web Page software program that runs on Mac OS X that I can buy? I'm a designer that will probably never understand all the intricacies html code.
