I have a compaq m700 laptop with composite video out. When I connect the video out of my laptop to my vcr video input or tv input my desktop is shown clearly on the television. My problem is that i cannot see any video files. When I open windows media player and play a video file in any format, the player shell is there on the tv screen but any video within the video field id blank. I have tried othjer media players, video embedded in a web page ..... all with the same result. Any ideas?

Try video lan -- it plays all video types and will go completely full screen, which might solve your video problem.
