Internet Connect won't quit

Hi, I'm running OSX 10.4.8 and connect to internet via ADSL wirelessly and normally flawlessly. Now Internet Connect constantly prompts for a connection and I don't know how to stop it.

Optional Information:
OS: Mac OS X; Browser: Firefox

Already Tried:
Deactivated internal modem and ethernet ports. The adsl is a modem/router.

I would try removing the internet connect plist file and rebooting the computer.. This will remove whatever preferences had been established that are causing it to pop up.

Let me know if this helps.

Reply to Stephen's Post: Hi Stephen,
Initially the suggestion seemed to work, then it started up again. I will have to check my system to see that I don't have some small utility that is triggering it. Before I retired I provided desktop support etc for both Macs and PCs, but am not as conversant with OSX as I was with OS9 and prior. For example, I don't know the equivalent under OSX for rebooting with all extensions off as a means of eliminating problems.

OS X does not use extensions, so that is not really an issue anymore. I would imagine that you do have some third party application that is looking for the Internet Connect application and is popping it open.

You might look in the Internet Connect plist file and see if it identifies the application that is opening it.

Hope this helps.
