Computer_James:ok. you ran through the secuirty wizard through windows xp and now you cannot enter into your db
Customer (name blocked for privacy):Yes in Access 2003
Computer_James:you ran the security wizard on Access 2003 or through windows xp. just needing further clarification
Customer (name blocked for privacy):on access 2003, without modifying any default settings and it now says I do not have the correct permissions to access the db, contact owner or administrator.
Computer_James:is the db you are connecting to local or on a remote machine? are you currently logged in underneath a local account with administrative privilages?
Customer (name blocked for privacy):Local, logged in as user of admin level.
Computer_James:ok. do you know where your db is currently being stored?
Customer (name blocked for privacy):It was on my desktop on my workstation at work, I tried to open it at home on a flash drive under office 2000
Computer_James:I want you to first right click on the db file itself and go into properties

Hi,

May I suggest running system restore to roll back your system to a date before the problem started, thus restoring your permission settings.

If you need assistance in running system restore let me know.

Hope this helps.

I have tried both solutions provided. The only thin I was able to do was to recreate the db from an archive copy. manually restoring data. I still cannot access the db in question, MS Access security is tighter than MS operating systems and I guess I'll just need to find a serious MS hacker to 'backdoor' the file, but I've worked around it for what I need and I'll just make sure to avoid that stupid Security Wizard for Access! Thanks for the attempt anyway.
