Location type software
Sent to Computer Experts October 04 07:39 PM

Hello, I am looking for software something like mapquest. I want to be able to enter all of the address of our customers then enter an intersection or address and a location and the software generate a amp of all other business in that area appear on the map. My salespeople have a lot of customers they see regularly but have no idea who is in the vicinity. With this type of software I can easily show then where everyone is at. Is software like this available? Thanks, Mike.

Have you tried using google earth? it is free and it shows all businesses in a general area. Even google maps will do that so try these two things both of which are free.

maps.google.com
earth.google.com

Reply to Kwyatt's Post: I haven't looked at those options. I will look at them after I reply. But I can enter address's into these areas and it will supply me with a map, and on those maps it will have all the business's that I have entered that have accounts with us.?

I looked at those google potions. I have salespeople that see certain customers everyweek. From our database I know we have other customers in the vicinity of those customers, but because we have never seen those customers my salespeople don't know physically where those lesser customers are at. I want to be able to enter my entire customer list into a program or something them pick an intersection and ask for all the customers we have in a certain radius of that intersection to be displayed on a map. Much like when you pick a route on mapquest then ask for hospitals and such along that route, I want that for our business with just our information that we enter. Everytime we get a new customer, my staff can enter those address's and a new map would then show those new customers on it.

I think the perfect program for you is microsoft streets&trips 2006. You can enter a route and add stops a long the way. Each customer of yours can be considered a stop and they will all be display on one map. There are also alot more features that may help you out.

check out microsoft's online tour here http://www.microsoft.com/streets/default.mspx
