Hi and Welcome to Just Answer,

Ok we can take a look at this,

I want you to use these programs they are free and should help

you want to get rid of some personal files on your computer;

Download this utility

http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_download.asp?fid=22393&fileidx=1

Clean up local drive with this
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_download.asp?fid=20100&fileidx=1

You really don’t want to get rid of your recovery files, this is a safety net. you have far more going on, if your 40 gig is full, check for hidden files, more pic. Music, graphics, and so on.

Mainly look for DVD movie formats, and very large files. *.vob, and so

If there is anything else let me know, or click accept. Thanks Michael L

Hi and Welcome Back to Just Answer,

It doesn't matter what system you are using, it is the Neuro program that creates the files,

Let’s try again

Start->Search

type exactly in the search box

*.VOB

Click search

After you delete the files that you want

Do the following searches,

*.BUP

*.IFO

These are all DVD Movie extensions.
Once the files show up highlight it in the right aide of your search box,

Then click delete, but make sure they are the movies you want to delete.

If you find this helpful please leave Feedback.
If there is anything else let me know, or click accept. Thanks Michael L

Hi and Welcome Back to Just Answer,

Ok, this all looks great,

Now lets do another search, this time go to Start->Search

This time click on Pictures, Music or Video

Check all 3 boxes, and then click on Advanced Search options

Scroll down and click on "what size is it"

Click on Larger then 1 Meg

Click search,

Next, click on the arrow drop down on your views box on your standard tool bar, click on details

Now you should be able to see every file that is very large, you can now delete what you don't want.
Right click on the one you don't want, click on delete.

After you are done, empty your recycle bin.

After you are done,

Run this program, Use the same warnings about deleting as above, if you are not sure, and leave it alone.
