I have adobe Pagemaker version 7.0. I recently upgraded to a Xerox 7665 color copier/printer. The Xerox printer driver won't allow me to   print a Pagemaker doc in black and white at run time. THIS ONLY OCCURS WITH PAGEMAKER -- other applications don't have the problem. What can I do?

Optional Information:
OS: Windows XP; Browser: Firefox

Already Tried:
go to the Start menu, click on printers/faxes, click on properties, preferences, select black and white seems to work but it's a long process

Hello,

This is a very tricky type of problem to resolve. Here are the steps to debug and try to solve this problem:

1) Check to see if there are any software patches or updates for Pagemaker 7.0. If you find any, download and install them.

2) Check to see if you have the latest driver for your Xerox printer.

3) Contact Adobe Pagemaker 7.0 support and ask if this is a known issue between their software and this printer. (Do this before step 4). They may suggest reinstalling Pagemaker - it may install extra driver information if it sees the printer already installed during the install program.

4) Contact Xerox and ask them to help resolve this. They may try to say it's Adobe's problem, tell them you already talked with Adobe. Also tell them that according to this report:

there are no problems using Pagemaker 7.0 with this printer.
